Porn is not victimless. In other words, porn use has consequences that negatively impact the viewer.
This may seem obvious, especially to those who have developed an addiction to porn. But it’s important to state the impact of porn bluntly and clearly in order to help you see it for what it really is: dangerous and harmful.
In today’s episode, Stephen and I will help you see multiple ways in which pornography impacts your life – things like escaping, avoiding relationships, unhealthy fantasy, the pain and difficulty of repairing what you have broken, and more.

Thousands of men over the past 20 years have reached out to our ministry to get help in overcoming unwanted sexual behaviors. Our desire is to help them experience long-term freedom, not merely short-term abstinence. So, what are the keys to long-term freedom from unwanted behaviors?
Our guest is Jason Martinkus. He is the founder and president of Redemptive Living, a coaching and speaking ministry helping men find freedom from sexual integrity issues and marriages find redemption beyond betrayal. Jason has 19 years of personal sexual sobriety; he has walked the walk.
In this episode we talk about key principles of freedom from unwanted sexual behaviors, such as humility, confession, authentic community, and more – principles that are vital for both short-term and long-term freedom.

Everyone in life has struggled with something. Struggle is part of being human. Here we see it in all forms of sexual brokenness. We have staff and ministry partners who are trained in helping such strugglers.
But what if you wanted to help someone who is struggling? Do you know what to do or what to say? Have you ever given bad advice? Does it scare you when someone shares their pain?
In today’s episode, Stephen and I will share with you some practical things to do and say when someone shares their struggles with you. You don’t need to be an “expert” in order to truly help a struggling friend.

Today’s guest is Sheila Harkins. Sheila was on the podcast a couple years ago, May 19, 2020, to talk about how to help teens talk about difficult topics. If you’d like to listen to that conversation, it is Episode 749.
But on today’s episode Sheila is here to talk about her own healing from betrayal trauma and divorce. She shares about the long journey of trying to restore a broken marriage and then the aftermath of divorce – and how painting was instrumental in her healing process.
As healing slowly took root in Sheila’s life she was stirred to share her journey with other wives through her paintings. This resulted in the release of her book, Healing, One Brushstroke at a Time, which contains 42 of Sheila’s paintings along with short reflections to help women heal.

Earlier this year I had today’s guest, Matt Wenger, Clinical Director of Boulder Recovery, on the program and we touched on the four elements of Whole Man Recovery: Intellectual, Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual. - How does recovery address this element?
